Creating a cohesive brand isn’t just about having a stunning logo or catchy graphics; it’s a holistic approach that encompasses every facet of your business. From the colours and fonts to the tone of voice in your communications, a consistent brand speaks volumes.
A visually cohesive brand not only appeals to the eyes but should also echo consistently across all your platforms — be it your website, social media, or email marketing. Today, let’s embark on a visual branding journey using The Instant brand checklist to not only grow your business but also create a loyal following on your social platforms. I know how hard that can be.
1. Colour Harmony:
Building brand recognition starts with a defined colour palette. Your brand colours should consist of 1-2 main colours and 1-2 secondary colours, used consistently across all marketing channels.
2. Font Finesse:
While experimenting with fonts can be enjoyable, too many can dilute the cohesive vibe you’re aiming for. Stick to 2-3 fonts for all your graphics and website needs. A header font, body copy font, and a call-to-action or accent font should will work perfectly.
3. Logo Impact:
Your logo is a key to your visual identity, it does not make a brand, your logo is not your brand. If you are planning on using your logo on large format make sure you have secured it in Vector format, ask your designer for this. This means that your logo is adaptable for various uses. This means it should look good both in larger designs and smaller ones. Also, it should come in variations of black & white with a transparent background. So make sure you have a PNG file as well as JPG. This will ensure you always get a crisp and professional brand aesthetic every time. No one wants a pixelated logo!
4. Personal Brand Photos:
Invest in a set of personal brand photos or headshots. These visuals are versatile, using them Home on your About Page, presentations, and selected social media content. It will save you so much time and will make creating your website a breeze, you can mix and match these with on brand stock photography, like the ones I’ve used here.
5. Diverse Stock Assets:
Complement your personal brand photos with cohesive stock photos, videos, and graphics. These assets bring your brand to life, ensuring consistency across your website, social media, presentations, and opt-ins.
6. Simplifying with Templates:
Keeping marketing graphics consistent becomes a breeze with templates. Having a set for specific content formats saves time, allowing easy tweaks while maintaining consistency.
You will be able to resize your design and use it across multiple platforms, with a click, saving you precious time, that you should be putting back into your business.
